THE BEST KIND OF DECAY
Where some people see rural decay as a blight upon an otherwise beautiful landscape, others see beauty. OK, maybe not outward beauty, but I fully admit the subjects I enjoy photographing the most are the decaying barns, shacks, old cars and abandoned homes I see as I ride my bike along gravel roads.
I have been photographing local rural decay for years, but in the interest of timeliness, page load speeds (like I’ve ever cared about that before), and seasonal relevance I’m limiting the photos seen here to those taken over the past two months. I have no doubt that future digital editions of Junk Miles will feature more images of decay and rot, so don’t fret, there will be more.
